よかった!

やはり、ガソリン代が更に高騰すれば、以前よりも、より多くの人達が映画館で時間を費やすでしょう。

High oil prices may be good for Hollywood movide studios

1. As consumer reduce long distance travel, they tend to spend money on comparatively cheaper entertainment, such as movie tickets (provided that ticket prices don't sky rocket more than they have in the past decade). In 1981 and 1982, for example, oil prices rose roughly 30% and then 10% year-over-year; in that same period, boxoffice saw sizable increases of 8%, then 16%. In years when oil prices were roughly flat, like 1992, boxoffice rose only 1%.

2. Oil-rich investors who are looking to park profits from the jump in oil prices into financing new films. For example, tax laws in some European countries require that windfall profits are taxed heavily unless the money is quickly invested in an intangible asset like film.
